I can't disagree on your point and for sure i know that once the projects i am working on that use your component will go live i will , for one, donate to your project. 
I think yours a pretty good work and although i still have a couple customizations that i haven't managed to complete it is a pretty nice tool and i don't see why people shouldn't show their gratitude ;)
