Can I remove the "powered by..." link/image at the frontend?

Yes, you can. There´s a special function for that at the backend administration, which allows you to modify the kind of displaying the link.
Notice: this doesn´t include neihter the right to replace the "powered by..." link with your own (company´s) name nor the right to remove the copyright hints within the sourcecode - you MUST(!) leave them where they are! For more informations read the GPL please.
