Tuesday, 27 February 2007

ME 1.0.3 comes with a few bugfixes and the following new functions:

MisterEstate
  • registered users can add their own realestate objects through the frontend.
  • user objects can be verified and published automatically or from the backend through administrator
  • objects can be cloned (no more need to fill in similar objects several times)
  • new configuration options at the backend

Download MisterEstate_1.0.3_FullPackage (login required)
Download ME102_to_ME103_UpgradePackage (login required)

If you´re using ME 1.0.3 or updating from an older version, please click on "read more" to see upgrading and security instructions:

Instructions for upgrading from an older version:

1. download and unzip the upgrade package to your local harddisk

2. transfer the files per FTP to your webspace

3. open phpMyAdmin and execute the following commands to upgrade jos_estateagent table and verify all your objects:

Notice: If you´re using another table prefix than "jos_", then change it before executing the commands below!

ALTER TABLE `jos_estateagent` ADD `verified` TINYINT( 1 ) NOT NULL DEFAULT '-1' AFTER `access`;

UPDATE jos_estateagent SET verified=1 WHERE verified='-1';

4. if you are using other languages than english or german, then update your estateagent languagefiles in /component/com_estateagent/languages/. You can find the new definitions in english.php or german.php, marked with "//new".

5. go to the backend and login as Administrator. Then edit the MisterEstate configuration and save your changes.

6. if you wish to allow users to add their own objects from the frontend, then open the usermenu-manager and publish the menulink for MisterEstate.

7. that´s it....

A few words about frontend access and security:

We recommend to use JCE WYSIWYG editor, if you want to allow users to add own objects through frontend, because JCE is the only editor for Joomla! where you can configure user access for individual editor functions.

step1
  • 1. Install JCE mambot and admin component.
  • 2. set JCE as your default WYSIWYG editor.
  • 3. goto the JCE Plugin manager as shown in the picture on the left.
 step 2
  • 4. select the functions and plugins whose rights you want to change.
  • Notice: if you want to disable a function for the usergroup "registered" for example, you can unpublish the function or set the accesslevel for this function higher than "registered" (see picture below).
 step3
  • 5. select the rights for the selected functions and plugins from the selectbox on the right top.
 step4
  • 6. click on "Access" icon to save your selection.
 step5
  • 7. ready! now the selected function is only accessible for "author" users.
